They are surrounded by beautiful beaches, and one is locally known as ‘Copacabana’ suitable for everyone to enjoy. Casa Yator is a lovely traditional 3 bedroom house situated in the village of Yator, near to Granada and Las Alpujarra, in the Andalucia region of Southern Spain. Luton Airport – new traffic plans for 2012

It has just been announced that Luton International Airport is to introduce 2 new traffic lanes in order to minimise travel delays for passengers and to further the Airport’s plans in preparation and readyness for the London 2012 Olympic Games, due to commence next July.

Plans recently submitted to Luton Borough Council for approval, are for the construction of 2 additional traffic lanes and the creation of a new ‘set down system’ in the main Terminal area.

The Managing Director of Luton International Airport, Mr Glynn Jones revealed that Luton is now become the fifth largest UK airport, which attracts almost 10 million passengers each year.

It appears the proposed plans are to improve Luton Airport’s road layout in time to cope with the additional traffic demands which are expected on the Airport’s road network around the time of the Opening ceremony on 27 July 2012, and which is expected to continue until the Closing Ceremony on 12 August 2012. Its also envisged the new infrastructure will help manage the growth which has been generated over recent years, at one of the region’s busiest airports.

Luton is a very popular airport, used not only by business passengers, but also huge numbers of holidaymakers travelling throughout Europe to sunshine destinations such as Spain, Portugal, France, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey and beyond, to their chosen holiday accommodation .

With many UK citizens now owning overseas holiday homes, low-cost airlines are flying holiday home owners, or self-catering holiday rentals passengers on routes to and from Austria, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy,Majorca, Menorca, Switzerland and many others are just as popular and often more affordable than travelling to one of London’s larger airports, hence the increase in traffic numbers around the Luton Airport roads over recent years.

Easyjet to go Greece from Luton

Low-cost airline EasyJet will soon be launching a new route to Heraklion in Crete for the first time from Luton Airport.

The proposed once-a-week flights will commence on 21 April 2012 and the one-way fares are expected to cost from £44.99 inclusive of taxes. .

With a total of 16 aircraft flying from their Luton base, Easyjet will then be operating a total of 35 routes which includes those to Barcelona, Cyprus, Munich, Palma and Istanbul in Turkey.

In September, Easyjet announced it also intends to operate a new route to the island of Corfu, with a twice weekly service commencing on 31 March 2012 at prices starting from just £37.99.

These new routes from London – Luton Airport are a welcome addition, saving some holidaymakers the normal lengthy journey time of having to travel to a larger airport like Gatwick, Heathrow or Stanstead for a similar Greek island flight.

Virgin Atlantic to refurbish aircraft in 2012

It’s just been announced that Virgin 747s are to receive a £50m facelift.

Long-haul destination passengers to the Caribbean and Las Vegas will soon benefit from a number of in-flight and cabin improvements.

Virgin Atlantic is to invest more than £50m in a much-needed refurbishment of its fleet of leisure aircraft next year. As the first step in the airline’s recently announced £100m product investment, it will completely overhaul the interiors of its 747-400s operating out of Gatwick and Manchester.

Beginning next May, it will be installing new seats in Premium Economy and Economy Class, plus adding a cutting-edge entertainment system offering 300 hours of content, including video-on-demand for the first time and touch-screen handsets.

By October 2012, premium economy passengers flying out of Gatwick and Manchester to destinations including the Caribbean Islands and Las Vegas will enjoy increased comfort by the introduction of leather ergonomic seats with an increased pitch of 38-inches, lumbar support and an adjustable headrest with wings.

Passengers will also be able to make telephone calls and send messages from their own mobile phones for the first time.

This will be the first major refurbishment of the 10-year-old 747s which operate Virgin’s holiday routes from Gatwick and Manchester and large numbers of holidaymakers are expected to take advantage of these improvements by making their holiday flight bookings well in advance.
