Description of Holiday Villa

In short, the house is made up of: 1 large kitchen with fireplace, 1 living room (with a sofa bed), 2 bedrooms (1 queen-bed room and 1 twin-bed room), 1 bathroom (shower), and 1 laundry (pantry) room. The front door takes you into the hall, where there are the kitchen (on the left side), the living room (on the right) and the stairs, which leads to the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. The house is nestled on a hill, with three floors on one side and two on the other; therefore at the ground floor there is another room (with independent entrance) which is used for a laundry. From the patio,you can go to the private garden (approximately 100 square metres), where there are a table, chairs, sun-umbrella, and BBQ.The house is fully furnished with all new or antique pieces (Tuscan pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries). We have provided a television (satellite), DVD, radio and CD player. Unfortunately, we have not yet installed a telephone (there is a public phone in town if you don't have a mobile), but telephone, computer, and internet access are available at our office (not more than 50 metres away). A central heating system (oil-fired) has also been installed. And, naturally, a working fireplace adorns the kitchen, as how would a mountain house be complete without one! Pascoso is an ideal stay for nature's lovers. However, it is not far from the "cities of arts" of Tuscany (Lucca,Pisa,Florence,Siena, etc., and beaches (Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio,which are among the most famous Italian beaches) are no more than 30 miles far.Furthermore, the house is situated under an hour drive from many of Italy’s finest and most picturesque golf courses, such as Golf Alisea - 32km -30 mins (5 holes golf course), Montecatini Golf Club - 37 km -35 mins (18 hole golf course of natural beauty that has been built in the hilly countryside), Club Golf Montelupo - 40 km -40 mins, Tirrenia Golf Club (9 hole), Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club (18 hol golf course), and other.

The house is situated under an hour drive from many of Italy’s finest and most picturesque golf courses, such as Golf Alisea - 32km -30 mins (5 holes promotional golf course), Montecatini Golf Club - 37 km -35 mins (18 hole golf course of natural beauty that has been built in the hilly countryside.Golfers are faced with many natural hazards such as lakes, streams, forests, and ditches which are all formed from the natural contours of the land), Club Golf Montelupo - 40 km -40 mins, Tirrenia Golf Club (9 hole), Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club (18 hole) and Golf Club Fontevivo (18 hole).

The house is located at approximately 60 Km from Abetone Pistes.

Horse Riding Facilities

The area is ideal for hiking and horseback riding (there are two barns where you can rent horses). Indeed, many of the old mule paths are also today suitable for horseback riding.

Beaches / Coast

Sea and beaches (Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio,which are among the most famous Italian beaches) are no more than 30 miles far from Pascoso (approximately 45 min. driving).

Special Interest

Pascoso's finest asset, and the most important reason to travel there, is the nature in which it is literally immersed. In many ways, the surrounding mountains and age-old trees are wild and untouched, the dense thickets grow untamed and the canyons, crossed by mule tracks, curl open to reveal sweet pastures where one can lie down in the soft, mountain sun. Pascoso is really a hiker's paradise. For some hikes you might want to drive a few short minutes to your point of departure, whereas for others, you can leave directly on foot from your front door. And clearly, for visitors with off-road vehicles, the opportunities are endless. A section of the Turrite stream is reserved for fishing. Trout abound, although, given the low levels of the water, they generally do not grow to be very large. As you may have already imagined, the only sounds you'll hear in Pascoso are dogs barking and townsfolk chatting. Quiet reigns through the mountainside.

Further Details

In Pascoso there are 2 “family” restaurants (1 of them is also “pizzeria”), located at approximately 50 and 300 meters from casa O, respectively. They are not expensive (….for Italy !!). In Pascoso there is also a “general store”, where you can find (almost) all you need (food, detergents etc.).
A well-stocked supermarket (Supermarket “Esselunga” is in the village “Ponte a Moriano”, 24 Km from Pascoso and 5-6 Km from Lucca : you can see the sign “Esselunga” when you drive from Lucca to Pascoso (on the right hand of the rotunda, at the cross with the road for the village “Marlia”. In Pascoso you must park your car at the public parking area (approximately 30-50 meters from the house). However, you can reach Casa O for unloading and loading the car.

Directions to Holiday Villa

The nearest airport is Pisa (airport Galileo Galilei), which is approximately at 1 hour driving. For reaching Pascoso, you must before arrive to Lucca. After approximately 50 kilometres (35-40 miles) you reach LUCCA, You then take the state road 12 (SS 12) directions ABETONE/GARFAGNANA (there are several road signs, also at the exits of motorway). You reach PONTE A MORIANO (5-6 Km from Lucca, and, at the rotunda, you turn left always following the direction Abetone/Garfagnana. You find four (4) tunnels, and approximately 1 miles after the fourth tunnel, you must turn right (direction BORGO A MOZZANO). After approximately 2 miles, we will reach DIECIMO (5 minutes of driving), and 200 meters after the road signal "Diecimo" you find before a Tamoil gasoline pump (on the left side of the road) and then, after another 100 meters, you must turn left (direction on the road signal: "PESCAGLIA"): you reach before Pescaglia and then Pascoso.
