The apartment is located in Kaprun an Austrian traditional village, close to the pretty lakeside town of Zell am See. Austrian holiday apartment is conveniently located, approximately a short 10 walk to the village centre and the nearest ski lift. The bus stop is a 1 or 2 minute walk away and the local supermarket is even closer. The apartment consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 en-suite and a family bathroom. There is a large combined kitchen / lounge / dining area. The apartment is located on the ground floor, and there is access to a terrace with amazing views of the Kitzsteinhorn mountain complete with glacier. There is car parking available and the added benefit of an underground car parking place and a ski room and bike store area. Most are within 10 minutes drive of the apartment, the rafting and karting are around 20 minutes drive away. This really is a sporting mecca. The Taurn cycle route goes through the village.

Walking, climbing, canyoning, winter sports, the Euro Sport region is great for around 30 + sports

There is an excellent choice of restaurants for dining out, and a great deal to see and do in and around Kaprun so you will not be bored or disappointed. Tauern Spa in Kaprun opens its doors in November 2010

Location

Zell am See and Kaprun marketed themselves as the Europa Sport Region, as you would expect from the name there are plenty of sporting opportunities for all the family, summer and winter alike.

The area also has some stunning scenery and there are excellent contrasts from lakeside settings, to mountain tops, quaint farms to rugged landscapes to historic towns, with castles full of history.

How to get there

There are regular flights to Salzburg and to Munich, both about 1 1/4 hour away and 2 1/4 hour away. Zell am See is served by an excellent train service, and there are also resort transfers from Salzburg by bus or private taxi. There are excellent transfer links, in and around the area, and it takes about 10 minutes by public transport to travel between Kaprun and Zell am See.

Beaches

In the summer lake swimming is superb with drinking quality water and stunning views, Zell am See beaches are a 10 minute ride away and make a wonderful day out for shopping, sightseeing or dining in a typical Austrian style restuarants.

Golf

The 36 hole golf course of Zell am See, Sallbach, Hinterglemm is close by and it is to a championship standard. About 5 minutes away from the apartment by car

Skiing

Kaprun is located in the joint ski area with Zell am See, it embraces the Kitzsteinhorn glacier which allows for an extended ski season

Horse Riding

In and around the area there are a number of riding stables with quality horses. The nearest stable is close to Kaprun castle at the other side of the village from the apartment
