A travel cot and high chair can be provided. Your beds will be made up for you before you arrive. Please bring your own towels including for the kitchen. Cooking is on gas, hot water and heating are from a gas combi boiler.

Bedroom Facilities: The cottage stairs are steep but a handrail is provided, which leads up to each of 2 bedrooms and the bathroom. There are grab handles on the landing to assist you, and safety rails to prevent you falling in the night! Upstairs is a double bedroom,and a twin room, plus a sofa-bed downstairs.

Bathroom Facilities: There is a WC with hand basin downstairs and a family bathroom upstairs with an over bath shower. A travel cot and high chair can be provided

Reception Rooms: Downstairs is the sitting room with comfortable sofas and a welcoming log fire. The dining room has a table and chairs plus a sofa-bed. Bring your logs, (one basket is provided,more can be purchased locally) into the sitting room and relax in front of a real open fire.

Kitchen: Cooking is on gas, and our modern well-equipped kitchen also has a pull-up table and folding chairs.A doorway leads to the patio and our pretty cottage garden.

Entertainment Facilities: Items include a digital TV and a DVD player. There is free WiFi in Heather Cottage and the B&B next door.
Enjoy a home-cooked meal in the dining room and watch the forest ponies and donkeys wandering around outside. There's plenty of interesting books in the cottage and book swapping is encouraged.

Outdoor: Outside is the enclosed, private garden, table and chairs, a clothes line and a lockup shed where your bikes, pushchairs and logs may go.

Nearby attractions include Beaulieu Abbey and Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens, Bucklers Hard on the Beaulieu River and The New Forest Museum in Lyndhurst.
All of the New Forest National Park is open for walking as is the Solent Way Coast Path, famous for it’s nature reserve. There are excellent beaches between Milford-on-sea and Christchurch harbour. Horse riding, golf, fishing , cycling, wagon rides and boating are all all within the immediate area and further afield are the cathedral cities of Winchester, Salisbury,and Chichester.
Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth offer cinemas, theatre, museums and large shopping centres.

Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu Motor museum and Exbury are ideal places close to visit near Sway. Pretty Emery Down near Lyndhurst and scenic Burley are stunning locations inspring, summer and autumn - bring your camera!

From M3/ M27 take M271 to Lyndhurst and turn left onto A377 to Brockenhurst. On reaching Brockenhurst take the B3055 to the right, opposite Careys Manor Hotel and Le Blaireau Restaurant, stay on the B 3055 and go under two railway bridges. Take the 2nd turning on the left at Sway War Memorial, signposted Pennington. Chapel Lane will be found in approximately 1/4 mile on the right hand side just after the post box. Heather Cottage is 4 cottages down on the left hand side., Heatherview is next.
Important: Have a safe journey but please watch out for New Forest ponies and other animals. They often stand right in your way on the road and do have the 'right of way'.

Sway Station is on the Poole - Southampton - Waterloo line, there is an hourly service and is ideal if you want to explore the New Forest by 'green transport', such as the bike or bus.
Brockenhurst is ten minutes drive away and represents a typical New Forest village with cafes, tourist and antiques shops. Lymington, with it’s Georgian High Street, sailing harbour, interesting shops and Saturday market, is equally close. A ferry runs to the Isle of Wight from here.

There are plenty of beaches to choose from along the Hampshire coast. Bournemouth has a stunning strech of golden sand sweeping majsetically around Poole Bay to Southbourne. Mudeford, Highcliffe, Barton-on-sea and Milford all have accessible areas of beach, some wiyh shingle and others are sandy.
