As well as a cot, we also have a highchair and basic pushchair available.

Bedroom Facilities: There are 3 double bedrooms - the fourth bedroom has a single bed with pull-out single bed beneath. There is also a cot available.

Bathroom Facilities: On the first floor of the house there is a bath with large square contemporary shower above and large washbasin and a separate WC. On the ground floor there is a shower, washbasin and 2nd WC.

Reception Rooms: There is a large living/dining room with large fireplace containing 2 large comfortable sofas and a large dining table. There are bookshelves with novels, children's books and guidebooks on the area.

Entertainment Facilities: There is unlimited wi-fi although a laptop is necessary.

Outdoor: There is a large dining table and chairs on the terrace as well as steamer chairs, a rattan salon and a swing seat. On the island garden there are more steamer chairs and 2 chairs and a table for drinks by the river.

Pool: There is an excellent public swimming pool in the village of La Bastide Clairence, just a 5 minute drive away as well as tennis courts.

Please note that the very large terrace area can be completely closed in by 3 gates, preventing access to the river banks for young children. As the mill is in the countryside, a car is essential.

Our neighbours offer donkey rides for children in the woods, the Basque coastline is world famous for its excellent surfing conditions, fishing is possible in the river by the mill.

Bed linen and bath towels are provided, but not beach towels. The mill is cleaned once a week and the change of bedding and towels is once a week.

The watermill is located just outside the village of La Bastide Clairence, voted one of the most beautiful villages in France, in the heart of the Basque country in South West France, near the Spanish border. The mill is just 30 minutes from Biarritz and Bayonne and 45 minutes from Pau. The mill is situated on the river Arberoue in wonderfully peaceful countryside. The mill overlooks the river and surrounding fields containing horses, sheep, cows and even lamas! The village is just 10 minutes from the A64 motorway.

ryanair offer cheap flights to both Biarritz/Bayonne airport (25 minutes away) and Pau airport (45 minutes away). As do Easyjet. Bilbao airport is 1 and a half hour's drive away.

The closest beach is Anglet just 25 km away. The Basque coast is famous for its long sandy beaches and excellent surf conditions. In Biarritz, there is a large choice of beaches. Cote des Basques is excellent for surfing, the Grande Plage directly in front of the casino is excellent for both surfing and swimming and the smaller protected Plage du Vieux Port is perfect for swimming.
