Description of Holiday Cottage

St Samson is set in the heart of the unspoilt countryside of Central Brittany between the towns of Mur de Bretagne and Pontivy.

Open plan ground floor with comfortable lounge ( wood burning stove, television,radio and cd player, dvd player ). Well equipped modern kitchen ( fridge, cooker, microwave washing machine, iron ) with dining area.

First floor 3 bedrooms ( sleeping 6 - 8 people ) one double plus sofa beds, one twin, one bunk bed. Modern bathroom ( bath with integral shower). Electric convector heaters throughout. Bed linen available ( £5 per week per bed ). Cot and high chair available free of charge. Option of final cleaning service ( £25 ) Free wireless broadband connection.

Extensive grounds outside.Garden furniture and barbecue. Heated swimming pool with terrace ( shared with two other gites ) 11.20m x 4.20m. Open May to end of September. Games room ( pool and table tennis ).

Golf Facilities

There is a nine hole golf course just south of Pontivy - about 15kms away. There are 18 hole courses on the north coast at Val St André near St Brieuc ( reputed to be one of the prettiest courses in France ) and at Baden Baden on the south coast near Vannes. Both are about an hour away by car.

Beaches / Coast

We are equi distant from the North and South coast of Brittany ( about an hour by car ). Nearer ( 10kms ) is the Lac de Guerledan with its safe sandy beaches, ideal for swimming and water sports ( wind surfing, sailing. canoeing )

Special Interest

Adjoining the Nantes Brest canal and the River Blavet St Samson is the ideal location for fishermen, cyclists and walkers.

Further Details

Whilst the property has a rural setting it is only a short drive to the market town of Pontivy ( 10kms ) with its medieval castle and bustling streets. Pontivy has all the usual amenities and shops as well as a good selection of bars and restaurants.
Swimming, fishing and walking are available on site. Horse riding, tennis and mini golf can be found at Mur de Bretagne ( 8kms )

Directions to Holiday Cottage

The ferry ports of Roscoof and St Malo are within a two hour drive of St Samson. Cherbourg and Caen are about a four hour drive.
There are airports at Dinard ( an hour and a half away ) Brest ( two hours) and Lorient ( one hour )
