The cottage is situated next to the owner's home, but positioned in a way that guarentees full privacy for both. The closest neighbours (at 500mtrs to 1 km) are two riding schools, one English, that organise outdoor rides.
The village of Bensafrim is at walking distance - at about 1,5 kms. It is a small, very quiet local village away from mass tourism. For those who enjoy a bit of action, the attractive coastal town of Lagos is reached within 10 minutes.
Both South coast and West coast beaches are within easy reach, the closest beaches are at 7 kms distance. The beautiful Monchique mountains or "the En d of the World" (Sagres) are at max. 30 min drive from Bensafrim.

A hire car is highly recommended!

From Faro - the nearest airport - it is an hour's drive to Bensafrim along the main quiet and safe highway - the A 22. It really couldn't be easier, because Bensafrim is at the end of the highway!

There are several beaches around Lagos: Meia Praia is a 5 km long sandy beach. It's the longest beach Lagos offers. There are several smaller beaches with rock formations like Praia dom Camillo, and Porto da Mos. The south coast beaches are busier than the west coast beaches - do visit beaches like Monte Clerigo and Arrifana (Aljezur), Carrapateira, and Odeceixe!
