FOOTBALL WORLD CUP - 2010 The largest sporting event next year will undoubtedly be the FIFA 2010 World Cup Final that is being hosted in South Africa for the first time. Cape Town and Port Elizabeth both play an integral role in the competion, with 8 matches booked in Cape Town alone during this fabulous tournament. These include 5 first round ties, (with England v Algeria on 18th June) and there will also be quarter and semi-final matches played at the new 70,000 capacity Green Point Stadium. Formerly a golf course, newly built Green Point is located in a safe and desirable area of cosmopolitan Cape Town, enjoying spectacular views of Table Mountain and the surrounding city.
