The luxury apartment comprises of two large bedrooms, a double and two singles; a good sized fully equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, washing machine etc. Bathroom with usual facilities and a large lounge with two settees providing additional sleeping for two.TV / Satellite /DVD / CD radio are installed as are ceiling fans throughout. The lounge leads onto a west facing patio which overlooks the gardens and swimming pool.The patio area gets the sun all afternoon and into the evening. There is included in the rental a weekly maid service and linen change. The small complex [35 apartments] is a short 5 minute walk away from a sporting complex, the Aztec Centre, open to non residents boasting a superb heated swimming pool and newly created JJ Broadways, tennis courts,badminton courts, crazy golf etc. The beach is a pleasant 15 minute stroll just past the shops, where you can find taxis and buses. Riviera Del Sol.
A small group of shops is a 10-minute walk away. Try David's bar for a relaxing evening drink. A very popular bar as is the George's bar. There are a variety of restaurants, shops and shopping mall as well as bars/ discos, Bank and ATMs etc. Calahonda, El Zoco is a 2 minute drive away. A very peaceful and popular park and gardens surround the shops.
Shopping
There are several small stores, restaurants, bars etc. within easy walking distance. Two minutes by car / taxi / bus is a large Supersol [similar to a small Tesco's] and a further two minutes away a large Lidle. A well-stocked Hypermarket is 10 minute away in Fuengirola, provides a good range of goods. It is next to Dunne's superstore.
Fuengirola and Marbella are exceptionally good for clothes and shoe shopping for all ages. Just outside Marbella, a 10-minute drive away is La Canada, a large shopping mall. Good for fashion shopping. Gibraltar is approximately 50 minutes away.

Car Rental - A car is not vital to the enjoyment of your holiday. The beach, bars and shops are all within easy walking distance, as is a taxi rank [taxis are fairly cheap in Spain] and bus stops. If you want to explore further afield there are many car rental agencies that will allow you to pick up a car at the airport and leave it there once finished. The apartment is an easy 25-minute drive from the airport. Arrangements can be made if you wish, to either pick you up at the airport, taking you directly to the apartment or to have a car left for you.

Cabopino Harbour: Cabopino is a short 5-minute drive away. Superb restaurant, [try Albert’s for atmospheric dining with free evening entertainment]. Lovely beach with sunbeds for hire, watersports, beach bars etc. Turn right to Andy's beach bar to find easy parking for the beach. Try some paella at the seafood restaurant whilst overlooking the harbour. A beautiful place to while away the hours. The beach boasts a lifeguard. Sunbeds can be hired locally.

Golf: Spain is after England the country with the highest golf course density in Europe. Especially the Costa del Sol is famous for its numerous and world-class courses. One of the reasons why golf lovers keep on coming back is the overall mild climate that allows playing not only in summer but also during the winter months. Calahonda is one of the most popular golf centres on the "Costa del Golf". The region became popular during the eighties as a winter golf resort which had as a result that within six years (between 1985 and 1991) a total of 17 new golf courses were built. Back then there were 30 golf courses located on a stretch of 50 miles (about 80 km). Due to the wide range of top notch golf courses in such as small area and of course the warm climate that allows you to play throughout the year; the resort became the most popular destination for Northern European golfers.

Location

Calahonda is especially popular with those who like to get tanned on the beach and golf lovers. The urbanisation features approximately 27 kilometres of coastline with a total of 24 wonderful beaches. In addition to lazing in the sun all day you also have the possibility to practise water sports. On the Calahonda beaches you will find jet-skies and facilities for sailing, balloon flights or cable skiing. After an exhausting ride or a long day in the sun one can enjoy fresh and delicious seafood that is offered along the coast from Calahonda to Marbella.

How to get there

Malaga Airport is approximately 30 minutes drive away. You may choose to hire a car directly from the airport or take a taxi which will cost approximately 40 Euros. Alternatively, you may wish to rent your car from one of the many car rental outlets in Sitio da Calahonda.

Hi Colin, thank you so much for letting us your lovely home. We absolutely loved it and the area and definitely want to go through with renting for a year from end of August as I suspect you anticipated! Got back late last night so will write talk more fully later on today. 'Specially loved the dry river bed as a view. Once again, many thanks for letting us your lovely flat. The directions from the airport were crystal clear and I soon got used to driving on right after setting off on left once or twice, luckily on quiet road. Best wishes, Ruth.
