Istanbul Holiday Rentals Guide
Istanbul is located in the north-west Marmara Region of Turkey and is the fifth largest city in the world. Istanbul is actually a megacity, as well as the cultural, economic, and financial hub of Turkey.
Istanbul has a temperate climate and summertime is generally hot and humid, whilst temperatures between July and August average around 28 C (82F). Winter is often cold, wet and temperatures average 5 C (41 F). Spring and autumn are usually mild and wet, though the nights are chilly. The humidity of the city is constantly high which makes the air feel much harsher than the actual temperatures. Istanbul has an average annual of 152 days of precipitation. Summer is the driest season, but precipitation does occur and is irregular and often torrential. Snowfall which occurs almost annually is common between the months of December and March, but average winter snowfall often varies considerably from year to year.
There is lots to see in Istanbul, Turkey's capital and nowadays there are many happening restaurants, bars, galleries and clubs around than there are mosques which is quite a lot! The international fashion and design press have been talking up İstanbul in respect of the ‘World’s Hippest City’ and the İstanbullus themselves have come to believe it.
Istanbul has an abundance of important historic buildings, exciting new art galleries and museums that provide visitors with more than enough to see during the day. It's at night that the City comes to life. Locals flock to see and be seen at an ever-growing choice of bars, clubs and restaurants. However, the locals are not turning their backs on much-loved city institutions such as the rakı, taverns etc, because they wouldn’t dream of doing anything like this. The locals know that such institutions are one of the reasons that their home is – and always has been – dubbed the ‘City of the World’s Desire’...and rightlfully so.
