Jumeirah Beach Residence, or JBR is another one of Dubai's recently built huge developments comprising of 40 high-rise residential apartment buildings and offers views of the Arabian Gulf. The design of the JBR buildings has taken a lot of critisism over the years, mainly due to the buildings being high rise and having a lack of character and taken a too long to build.
There are only apartments in Jumeirah Beach Residence and the apartments have access to the beach. In addition, there is a long parade of designer shops, coffee shops and restaurants known as 'The Walk'. This was completed in 2009 and transformed the area into a bussling community, although it is strictly no alcohol permitted unless you frequent a nearby hotel, such as Ritz Carlton, Hilton or one of the restaurants such as Frankies.
